1. What is the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)?

GDPR is an EU regulation that strengthens and unifies data protection for EU citizens. It gives you, the user, more control over your personal information.

2. What data do we collect and why?

2.1 Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics to analyze visitor behavior. Your IP address is anonymized so that you cannot be identified by us or Google.
We use information such as browser, device and country to improve the experience on our website.

2.2 Google Tag Manager

Find That Hippo uses Google Tag Manager to improve the user experience and display relevant content. The data is forwarded to Google Analytics for analysis.

2.3 Visiting the website

We record IP addresses and user behavior to optimize the user experience, display targeted marketing, and improve functionality.
The legal basis is the balancing of interests rule in GDPR Art. 6, para. 1, letter f.

2.4 Contact form and registration

When you contact us via form or download content, we store your information securely.
We retain data for up to five years if it is related to legislation or order data.
Data is not transferred to third countries outside the EU/EEA.

2.5 Newsletter

When you sign up for the newsletter, we save your name, email and possibly your company.
We use this information to send relevant updates 1–2 times a month.
You can unsubscribe at any time via the unsubscribe link.
Your email is stored with us and our email provider (e.g. SendGrid).

2.6 Cookies

We treat information from cookies as personal data if it can be linked to you.

We only use approved third parties for data processing in accordance with GDPR.

3. Data breaches

In the event of a data breach, we will inform relevant individuals and authorities within 72 hours if personal data has been compromised.
